Emmerdale viewers are still left in tears over Liv Dingle's heartbreaking exit four years ago on the ITV soap. Soap fans will remember that Liv was Aaron Dingle's younger sister, and during his marriage to Robert Sugden, the three formed a tight-knit family. But in 2022, disaster struck during the ITV soap's 50th anniversary episode when a devastating storm sent a caravan crashing down, fatally crushing Liv, and leaving the village changed forever. Liv, who had recently wed Vinny Dingle at the time, succumbed to her injuries at the scene, leaving brother Aaron, spouse Vinny and the entire village utterly heartbroken.
Liv Dingle's Arrival and Departure
Liv initially arrived on the ITV drama in 2016 as Aaron's previously unknown sister. Liv was the offspring of villainous Gordon Livesy and Sandra Flaherty, making her Aaron's half-sister. The role was portrayed by Isobel Steele from 2016 until 2022. Reflecting on her departure at the time, she expressed: "And that's a wrap on Liv Dingle. Hard to put into words what this show and the people in it mean to me and how big a decision it was to leave. Thank you to every single person I ever worked with and to those that pushed me to be a better person and a better actor. Thank you to everyone who watches the show and has supported me throughout, none of it went unnoticed. Thank you to Kate Oates, Ian MacLeod and Jane Hudson. I love you all so much, you know who you are. The most bizarre and wonderful place to have grown up. I'm gonna miss it so much. On to the next! X."
New Look and Career Shift
Since bidding farewell to Emmerdale, Isobel, now 25, has unveiled a hair makeover, revealing her fresh look last year. The actress traded her long tresses for a shorter style, complete with a fringe. Meanwhile, earlier this year, Isobel revealed she had grown out her fringe and debuted a cropped bob instead. In the meantime, Isobel has chosen to step away from her acting career temporarily, instead concentrating on her musical pursuits in London. The actress fronts her own band named Little Dog Star and has released music, along with music videos, showcasing her impressive singing abilities with tracks available for streaming on Spotify as well.
Recent Performances
In a recent career update, Isobel penned: "I’m opening for the coolest @stellalefty at Hoxton Hall in July I’m so gassed!!! See you there <3", as well as sharing all the other artists she has performed alongside and supported over the past few months. Emmerdale continues on weeknights at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
