The blood-soaked trailer for the upcoming horror film Ice Cream Man has sparked debate among film fans, with many drawing comparisons to other recent horror hits. Directed by Eli Roth, known for Cabin Fever and Hostel, the movie is set for release on 7 August.
Trailer Shows Children Turning Violent
The trailer opens with a family discussing a 'weird Ice Cream Man' who keeps following their young son. Footage then shows schoolchildren with deadpan expressions and faces covered in colourful ice cream. The children proceed to attack teachers and attempt to 'turn' their classmates who remain normal. In one gruesome scene, a girl lands on a car and vomits over the windscreen as those inside scream.
Fans Compare to 'Weapons' and 'Cooties'
Studio Canal posted the trailer with the description: "This summer, the children are having a meltdown. Witness the new trailer for Eli Roth's ICE CREAM MAN. In cinemas August 7th." The synopsis adds: "An idyllic summer town descends into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results."
