The murder mystery series first debuted in April 2025 on U&Alibi and is now available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer following its acquisition by the broadcaster. The series has been penned by Chris Lang, the acclaimed writer behind Unforgotten, Innocent, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, and boasts an outstanding ensemble cast. Episode Release Schedule
The first series comprises six episodes in total, reports Wales Online. The opening episode will air on BBC One at 9:15pm on Sunday, July 12, followed immediately by the second instalment at 10:30pm as part of a double bill. Those who enjoy the first two episodes won't have long to wait, as episodes three and four will air on Monday, July 13. Episode three will air at 9:15pm, while episode four will air after the 10pm news at 10:40pm. Episodes five and six are expected to air on Sunday, July 19.
Season Two Confirmed
Yes, season two is currently in production. The BBC has acquired both series, meaning not only will season one be re-broadcast on the channel, but season two will also air in due course. The second series will see the return of Nikki Amuka-Bird as Sally Wright, John Simm as Gray Wright, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis as Emily Wright, and Daniel Rigby as John Wright. Harry Lloyd returns as DCI Morgan, with new cast members Tom Austen (Rematch) and Zora Bishop (Hijack) joining the fold for the second series. While a release date is yet to be confirmed, the BBC has offered a tantalising glimpse of what viewers can expect.
A synopsis for season two reads: "The Wrights are back – and deadlier than ever. Still reeling from the death of patriarch Jack, the family are blindsided by the arrest of one of their own for his murder. But have the police got the right person? And more importantly, how could this affect their inheritance payouts? Add in one new family member, two new wills, and three new bodies, and prepare for an explosive return to the twisted world of the Wright family."
