The 2010 comedy Get Him to the Greek has become one of Hollywood's most controversial films, as three of its stars — Russell Brand, P Diddy and Jonah Hill — have all faced serious allegations.
The film served as a spin-off from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, with Brand reprising his role as unpredictable rock star Aldous Snow and Hill playing record company executive Aaron Green. Diddy, real name Sean Combs, took on the role of unhinged Pinnacle Records chief Sergio Roma, a character who participates in sex trafficking — mirroring accusations the rapper faces and denies. In the plot, Aaron and Sergio must transport Aldus from London to Los Angeles' Greek Theatre for his decade anniversary gig.
Russell Brand's Conviction
Brand was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault on 5 November 2026. The allegations date from 1999 to 2009 and concerned six women, who are all entitled to lifelong anonymity.
After eight hours, a jury of eight men and four women found the 51-year-old guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. He was cleared of two further charges of rape and one allegation of attempted indecent assault. The verdicts were: Count 1 (rape) — not guilty; Count 2A (attempted indecent assault) — not guilty; Count 3 (sexual assault) — guilty; Count 4 (rape) — not guilty; Count 5 (sexual assault) — guilty; Count 6 (rape) — guilty; Count 7 (sexual assault) — guilty.
A judge told the court Brand could expect a custodial sentence "of some length." Brand is also under investigation for two further allegations of rape. During pre-trial court hearings, it emerged that one of the complaints involves a woman who was in a relationship with Brand when he was 30 years old and she was a 16-year-old schoolgirl.
P Diddy's Disturbing Scenes
It is disturbing to see Diddy portray an erratic music executive who commands a woman to sleep with Aaron. At one moment he says: "Destiny, pay attention. You are going to go and have sex with Aaron right now," before Aaron claims Destiny raped him. The rapper is now in prison for just over four years after being convicted on prostitution-related charges involving his two ex-girlfriends.
Diddy's former producer Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones filed a lawsuit against him alleging Combs forced him to have sex with prostitutes — which is depicted in the film. Combs has denied this along with all other accusations made against him.
Another scene shows Combs' character staring Jonah Hill directly in the eyes in an intense confrontation. He says: "It's called mind-f******. You ever been mind-f***** before? I'm mind-f****** you right now. Can you feel my d*** f****** your mind? See, that's the art of it. I'm mind-f****** the s*** out of you."
Prosecutors accused Combs of using his celebrity status and business empire to run a criminal enterprise and sex traffic his former girlfriends. They argued that Combs sex trafficked the women during "freak-offs", or encounters for which he would pay male escorts to have sex with his girlfriends while he watched them and filmed them together. Combs was found not guilty of the most serious charges against him, racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking of his two ex-girlfriends, singer Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura and "Jane". He was convicted on two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Jonah Hill's Controversies
Hill was also embroiled in a major controversy when his former partner Sarah Brady accused the actor of being "emotionally abusive". The professional surfer shared screenshots on her Instagram Stories of Hill's alleged demands for "boundaries" in their relationship. In the alleged messages, he told her that she was forbidden from surfing with men, modelling, posting pictures of herself in a bathing suit, posting sexual pictures or maintaining friendships with women who are in unstable places.
Legal representatives for Hill have refuted these allegations. Hill has also publicly rejected claims made by actress Alexa Nikolas, who alleged he assaulted her when she was 16. She stated on X/Twitter that he had "slammed her to [a] door" and "shoved his tongue down [her] throat" outside of a house party.
