Francesca Scorsese has been cast as a Jane Smith in the second season of Prime Video's spy drama Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which began production in Los Angeles last month, sources have confirmed.
The series, co-created by Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane, is a reimagining of the 2005 film. Glover, who also starred in the first season, is set to direct multiple episodes in season two. Season one leads Glover and Maya Erskine are expected to reprise their roles as John and Jane Smith, though the extent of their involvement is unclear.
New cast members include Mark Eydelshteyn and Talia Ryder as one of the younger Smith pairs, with Scorsese believed to be part of another couple. Anna Ouyang Moench serves as showrunner for the new season.
Scorsese previously starred in HBO's We Are Who We Are and made her directorial debut with a segment in the Netflix docuseries Stories of a Generation – with Pope Francis. She recently appeared in the film Christmas Eve in Miller's Point and the Netflix comedy Roommates.
