Faith Ward, a star of Netflix's America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, stands out on the squad for two significant reasons. The 23-year-old cheerleader, who joined the team in season three of the documentary series, is the first New Zealander and only the fourth Australian to earn a spot on the prestigious squad.
Who Is Faith Ward?
Faith Ward was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and moved to Australia at age 10. She was raised by a devoted single mother, a fact she has shared on social media. In a TikTok video showing an embrace with her mother at an airport, she wrote: "My mom clapped so hard for me I didn't notice my father was never there. That sums up the kind of person she is."
Faith began dancing at just two years old and competed in dance competitions from age 10. She turned professional at 18, joining Smash Dance Company in Australia, and later performed on a major cruise line for nearly a year.
Her Unique Achievements
Filmed during the NFL's 2025-26 season, Faith became the first New Zealander and fourth Australian to secure a place in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad. She expressed her gratitude on Instagram: "So beyond grateful and blessed to turn my biggest dream into a reality. Her Signature Ponytail
In the series, Faith is the only squad member who wears her hair up in a ponytail. This came after a discussion with coach Kelli Finglass, who noticed her resemblance to pop star Ariana Grande. Faith recalled: "I'm in rehearsal one of the days with my hair out... She's looking at me and she's like, 'You know what? I really want to see what your hair would look like tied up.'" Kelli also encouraged her to grow her hair longer and blonder, solidifying her iconic look.
