Ewan McGregor is set to be honoured with the outstanding contribution to film and television award by BAFTA Scotland. The actor, born in Perthshire, has enjoyed a career spanning more than three decades, with iconic roles in films such as 'Trainspotting,' 'Moulin Rouge!,' 'Brassed Off,' 'Shallow Grave,' and the 'Star Wars' franchise.
McGregor has been recognised by BAFTA Scotland before, winning awards for his performances in 'Trainspotting' (1996) and 'Young Adam' (2003). The special award will be presented at the BAFTA Scotland Awards ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday 16 November.
'It's so lovely to be thought of for this year's BAFTA Scotland Special Award, and I am excited to go to the event and looking forward to meeting with my peers there,' said McGregor. 'Who knows, a new collaboration could be born out of such a thing! Thank you, BAFTA Scotland.'
