Sushi Master Endo Kazutoshi to Open New Omakase Restaurant in Chelsea
Endo Kazutoshi to Open Chelsea Omakase Restaurant

Sushi master Endo Kazutoshi will open a new restaurant and listening bar in Chelsea this autumn, the Standard can reveal.

New Chelsea Venue

The 10-seat omakase experience will be housed in a two-storey Chelsea townhouse, with a listening bar called Moga upstairs and dining on the ground floor. Endo says he will root his sushi more steadfastly in tradition and culture.

Endo, who studied under Tokyo's Jiro Ono, previously operated a residency at Annabel's after his White City restaurant closed due to a fire. His sushi is known for using ingredients from Irish tuna to Cornish and Spanish varieties, served across 16 courses.

Inspiration and Philosophy

The restaurant is inspired by Tokyo in the 1920s and pays homage to Endo's grandfather, who once owned a restaurant in Yokohama where Endo learned the basics. "I often ask myself what responsibility I have to carry on the traditions and culture of Japan in my work," Endo said. "This is the next chapter. Behind every piece of sushi is the work of many hands — those who catch fish, grow the rice, and create the objects to serve it. This is a story I wish to tell."

Endo will open in the autumn. For more information, visit endo-chelsea.com.
