Jason Statham is set to headline a new big-budget action-comedy titled Jason Statham Stole My Bike, which has been launched at the European Film Market in Berlin. The film reunites Statham with director David Leitch, known for Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train, following their collaboration on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Production is scheduled to begin in May 2026.
Plot details remain under wraps, but sources indicate that Statham will play a fictionalised version of himself, described as 'global action superstar Jason Statham'. The budget is set north of $80 million, a rare figure in the independent market, and the film will feature multiple major action set pieces. It is conceived as a PG-13 comedy with a tongue-in-cheek tone, reflecting its meta title.
The script is written by Alison Flierl, whose credits include BoJack Horseman and the School of Rock series. Black Bear is handling international sales and has committed to a wide domestic release. CAA Media Finance arranged financing and represented US rights. Amazon is reportedly circling rights in multiple territories.
Producers include Leitch and Kelly McCormick for 87 North, Statham for Punch Palace Productions, John Friedberg for Black Bear, and Meredith Berg and Ethan Erwin for Beryllium Entertainment.
