Rugby legend Danny Cipriani and his bride-to-be AnnaLynne McCord have launched an online fundraiser asking their wedding guests to pay for their wedding day. The couple, who will tie the knot in August, have created a page through the Honeyfund platform where guests and well-wishers can gift them anything between £75 and £450.
How the Fundraiser Works
Donations can be made towards specific items, including reception catering (around £200 per person), photography (£250), decorations, drinks, and even the wedding cake. For those wanting to contribute more, there is an option to add £550 for flowers or donate towards the honeymoon. The total amount requested on the page is £10,660, not including a separate cash donations section.
Reaction and Background
The fundraiser has drawn criticism from some, with one guestbook comment reading: "Cheapskates..asking others to pay for your wedding ..how rotten and low is that." Another wrote a poem including the line: "May all the turds of enteral light come flowing through on your day of sh*te."
This comes months after Danny's ex-wife Victoria Rose claimed bailiffs 'banged on her door' and clamped her car over his debts. Danny married model Victoria Cipriani in April 2021, but they split in November 2023. He then got back with AnnaLynne before they ended their romance again in February 2024, quickly rekindling.
The Proposal and Relationship
Danny proposed to AnnaLynne last year with a romantic setup. The actress told People: "I cried for ten minutes straight. At some point, I realised I had to answer. I said, 'Yes, but I can't even speak,' and he replied, 'That's OK, it's actually a good sign that you are quiet for once.'" They first met on dating app Raya about a decade ago and have had an on-and-off relationship since.
Danny Cipriani made 16 appearances for England between 2008 and 2018 and played for Bath, Gloucester and Sale Sharks. The fly-half announced his retirement from rugby in January last year at the age of 36.
