A special effects technician working on Universal's live-action 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' has lost multiple fingers after an accident during production in the UK.
The incident occurred when the crew member's hand was caught in a saw at Sky Studios Elstree, where the film is currently in production. The accident was first reported by Variety, and a source confirmed the details to Deadline. Universal declined to comment.
Dean DeBlois returns to write, direct and executive produce the sequel. The film is scheduled for release on June 11, 2027.
Producers include Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions. The franchise has grossed over $2.2 billion globally, with the live-action adaptation earning $636.4 million last summer.
Starring in the sequel are Phil Dunster, Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gerard Butler, Cate Blanchett, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James and Harry Trevaldwyn.
