Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen reflected on handing over Ravenseat as he celebrated his 70th birthday during Friday's repeat episode of Our Farm Next Door, available on Channel 4. He received gifts from his daughters and former wife Amanda Owen, marking the milestone occasion together.
Gifts and Gratitude
Clive said, "Well, it was lovely for the girls to give me the sheep horns for my birthday. I'm using them for paperweights. Everyone needs a paperweight. And thank you for the coat, because I've been saying lately, I need a coat, haven't I?" Speaking directly to the camera, he added, "I'm very, very fortunate to still be well and still be doing things. Life has been great."
He continued, "I definitely feel privileged to have led the life, absolutely. It's such a strange thing, isn't it, to come out of a mining village in South Yorkshire and to end up here." Clive noted, "The journey has been quite remarkable. I loved it, and always have."
Future of Ravenseat
Clive emphasized the importance of his children: "The most important thing in all of this is the kids. It would be lovely to think that some of the children would take over and farm here at Ravenseat. And it would be lovely if my great-grandchildren are here in 100 years, wouldn't it? But whether they will, who knows?"
This is not the first time Clive has discussed inheritance. In an earlier episode of Our Farm Next Door, he confessed, "I am almost 70 now, so I have got to think about what comes next. It is something the family is discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone. It is nice for me to pass on my shears." He added, "What the future holds, you can never quite be sure."
Our Farm Next Door is available to watch on Channel 4.
