King Charles and Queen Camilla have visited the Chelsea Flower Show in London, where they met Sir David Beckham and admired a rose named in his honour.
Royal Visit Highlights
A key stop for the royal couple was The King’s Foundation Curious Garden, a collaborative exhibit designed to inspire public interest in gardening. The exhibit featured Charles, Sir David Beckham, and TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh.
Sir David Beckham wore the white bloom of his newly launched English shrub rose, a special commission from his daughter Harper to mark his recent 50th birthday.
Other Notable Encounters
King Charles also met Dame Judi Dench, with whom he discussed the “extraordinary” Gaia sculpture in the Campaign to Protect Rural England’s garden. The monarch also interacted with Zinc, a cocker spaniel trained to detect plant diseases.
This year's show, which also saw gnomes painted for a charity auction, was toured by other royals including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
