Theo James, one of the frontrunners to play James Bond, has displayed traits reminiscent of the iconic spy in a new interview. The 40-year-old actor admitted he is not friends with any of his exes, named 'sugar and booze' as his greatest vice, and said smell makes him feel 'f***ing sexy'.
Speaking to Vogue, James was asked if it's possible to stay friends with an ex and quipped: 'I'm not friends with any of mine!' He also revealed his love for the finer things, including a favourite hotel in Tuscany that starts at £4,000 a night. When asked about the best gift he's ever received, he cheekily replied: 'I can only think of dirty answers!'
The Brit actor, best known for roles in The White Lotus and The Gentlemen, has been the bookies' favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as 007, with odds of 5/2. He has played morally ambiguous characters similar to Bond, including the debonair aristocrat Eddie in Netflix's The Gentlemen.
However, James has downplayed the speculation, telling The Guardian last year that it 'probably wouldn't be me'. Meanwhile, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 34, remains a strong contender, recently endorsed by former Bond Pierce Brosnan, who said he 'would make a very fine Bond'. Taylor-Johnson has also signed a deal with Omega, the official watch provider of the franchise.
