TOWIE star Bobby Norris has expressed a strong desire to participate in Strictly Come Dancing, but admits there is one major hitch: his own dancing ability. The reality TV personality, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex in 2012 and left the show in 2021, has since appeared on Celebrity Karaoke and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Now, he has set his sights on the BBC dance competition.
Bobby Norris on Strictly and Bake Off
Speaking exclusively via OLBG, Norris said: "I'd love to do Strictly. I mean, who doesn't want to spray tan every Saturday and wear spandex? I don't think I'd be very good though." He also expressed interest in The Great British Bake Off, adding: "I'd quite fancy a shot at Bake Off as well. I'm quite handy in the kitchen. I'm no Mary Berry, but I could whip up a Victoria sponge."
Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to screens in September 2026, with new hosts Josh Widdicombe, Emma Willis, and Johannes Radebe. Confirmed celebrities for the upcoming series include Dani Dyer, Lacey Turner, and Chris Appleton.
Reflecting on TOWIE Legacy
Despite stepping back from TOWIE, Norris remains a cult figure, with fans sharing clips of his iconic moments on social media. He recalled discovering his online popularity during lockdown: "I was the last person to come to TikTok, really late in the game, and I still don't really understand it now. But people were telling me that they take the sound of a scene or something and they mime it." He added: "I had a little look, and I was laughing at that. Funnily enough, I think it was last week or a few days ago, there's a big Instagram account that has created a load of memes of me. I think it's about a minute long, and I'd forgotten half of them."
Norris shared his most cherished TOWIE memory: "The one that always springs to mind is me and Gem [Gemma Collins] in a motor in America crossing over railway tracks, and we hadn't realised it was a railway crossing, obviously. We filmed in America, we travelled across the globe to shoot, so there are all these brilliant memories. I'm incredibly thankful, you know what I mean? I'm well aware that's what launched my career."
No Immediate Return to TOWIE
Norris recently appeared on the TOWIE podcast You Alright Hun? with current cast member Saffron Lempriere, but confirmed no plans to return to the show. He explained: "There have been discussions throughout the years. You know what it is, when you've organised your schedule and you decide to step back from a programme like TOWIE, I had to walk away. I was keen to focus on my other projects."
