The cast of Sam Mendes' four Beatles biopics has recreated the band's iconic 1963 beach photo shoot at Camber Sands in East Sussex. Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn gathered on the beach to film scenes for the upcoming films.
Dressed in 1960s-style swimming costumes, the actors replicated the photo shoot that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison did in Weston-Super-Mare in 1963. Despite chilly conditions, the foursome appeared to be enjoying themselves, mucking about between takes.
Recreating Iconic Moments
The actors have previously been seen walking through London as the beloved music group and dressed up to recreate their 1965 New York gig. The Camber Sands shoot is part of the four-film series, with each film focused on one Beatle.
The films are set to hit cinemas simultaneously in April 2028. Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Paul Mescal takes on the role of Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan stars as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn plays George Harrison.
Chilly Conditions on Set
The actors and director Sam Mendes faced chilly conditions and blustering winds during the shoot. Unlike the real Beatles, who took their pictures in the summer months, the actors had to brave the wintery weather, with Dickinson and Mescal appearing to struggle with the sea in the cold November temperatures.
Between takes, Mescal and Dickinson pulled silly faces for the camera and struck fighting poses, with Dickinson crouching down and Mescal backing him up from over his shoulder.
