The George McFly Controversy
Michael J. Fox, who immortalised the character of Marty McFly, recently disclosed that Crispin Glover's departure after the first film stemmed from more than just salary disputes. According to Fox, Glover's unconventional behaviour and creative differences with director Robert Zemeckis created an environment where replacement became inevitable.
"There were things happening with Crispin," Fox revealed, "that made it clear he wouldn't be returning." The studio ultimately brought in Jeffrey Weissman to play George McFly in the sequel, using clever prosthetics and camera angles to maintain character continuity.
Original Marty McFly Wasn't Fox
