This Morning fans are flocking to River Island to buy a satin co-ord recently worn by presenter Alison Hammond. The 51-year-old, covering for Cat Deeley during the summer holidays, appeared in the two-piece ensemble on Wednesday (July 22).
What is the co-ord?
The presenter wore River Island's Blue Check Satin Blouse (£34) and matching Blue Satin Check Maxi Skirt (£42). Available in sizes 6-22, the co-ord offers easy occasion wear without a premium cost. The sleeveless top has a draped neckline and satin fabric with a red and blue check pattern. The maxi skirt features an elasticated waistband for comfort, though it only comes in one length.
Previous popularity
This isn't the first time shoppers have fallen for this outfit. Alison wore the same two-piece in a green and orange colourway in March, which became an instant hit. Reactions included: "You look amazing in your dress. Would you mind sending me the info," and "where is this dress from?"
Versatility and alternatives
The green co-ord quickly sold out online, and the new colourway is expected to follow. The satin material gives a luxurious feel, suitable for weddings, races, graduations or getaways. It can be worn as separate pieces for three outfits: the blouse with linen trousers or denim, and the skirt with a plain vest or lightweight jumper.
For those who prefer trouser co-ords, Next offers a White/Black Stripe One Shoulder Scarf Tie Top (£35) with matching trousers (£45). Nobody's Child has a Chocolate Brown Jacquard Floral Satin Leila Slip Skirt (£69) with matching top (£59). River Island also sells a blue check maxi dress (£59) with a drape neckline, short fluted sleeve and tie belt.
Alison's exact co-ord is still available but selling quickly.
