Al Pacino and his former partner Beverly D'Angelo were seen together this week in a rare, warm reunion to mark the actor's 86th birthday, more than two decades after their separation. The pair, who share twins Anton and Olivia, stepped out for a low-key gathering, far from the usual red-carpet glare.
Pacino kept a characteristically understated look in a long dark coat, black beanie and sunglasses, while D'Angelo, 74, wore a neutral blazer with relaxed trousers and a patterned scarf. The couple were said to be in good spirits, smiling and chatting throughout the outing.
The former couple were together from late 1996 until 2004, and have long maintained a respectful co-parenting relationship. Both have spoken openly about prioritising their children while navigating life in the public eye. In an Instagram post last year, D'Angelo wrote: "We lived together for seven years, had two children, broke up, but continued steadily on our journey as co-parents - and came to share our lives with a deeper kind of intimacy, honesty and acceptance than a 'traditional' relationship would have allowed."
She also told PEOPLE: "The greatest gift that Al ever gave me was to make me a mother." Over the years, Pacino has been linked with several high-profile figures, including Diane Keaton, Jill Clayburgh and Penelope Ann Miller. He has a daughter, Julie Marie, born in 1989, with acting coach Jan Tarrant.
