First Look at £12m Viking-Themed World Now Open at UK Theme Park
£12m Viking Realm Opens at Paultons Park

A £12 million Viking-themed attraction has officially opened at Paultons Park, just in time for the summer season. The new area, named Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, introduces two major thrill rides and is the park's largest investment to date.

New Rides and Attractions

The centerpiece of Valgard is Drakon, Paultons Park's first inverting rollercoaster. This ride features a vertical lift hill and two upside-down twists, offering an exhilarating experience for older children and teenagers. Another new ride, Vild Swing, swings riders 12 metres into the air, providing a thrilling sensation of flight.

Additionally, the family favourite Cobra has been transformed into a bobsled adventure renamed Raven. A Nordic-themed restaurant called Feasting Hall has also opened, complete with a life-size Viking longship, iron chandeliers, and Viking shields. The menu includes burgers, couscous bowls, fried chicken, fries, and ice cream with toppings.

Family-Friendly Additions

For younger children, a playground named The Orchard offers slides, climbing frames, and a net swing. Valgard is located adjacent to the Lost Kingdom section of the park and is set to expand further, with a water-based ride planned for addition by 2027.

James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park, expressed excitement about the opening: "We are thrilled to have opened the gates to Valgard: Realm of the Vikings today. The launch of this attraction and reveal of our most thrilling rollercoaster to date marks the start of an exciting new era for Paultons Park. We are committed to continuing to offer a memorable experience for young guests, while also growing and becoming more adventurous alongside our fans."

Paultons Park, located near the New Forest in Hampshire, has been owned and operated by the Mancey family since 1983. With the addition of Valgard, the park now features a collection of 80 family-friendly rides and attractions across six themed worlds, including the popular Peppa Pig World.
