Zayn Malik has been dropped by his manager after a series of controversies, including allegations that he punched former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson. The split is a significant setback for the singer, who has faced mounting difficulties in his solo career.
Manager Resigns Amid Fallout
The manager reportedly resigned after the altercation with Tomlinson, which allegedly left Louis with a head injury requiring hospital care. A source told The Sun: "Things reached a point where his management felt they couldn't do anything else, and they recently resigned. Now he is looking for the third manager of his solo career. It's not a good look."
Zayn and Louis were both part of One Direction until Zayn quit in 2015. They were scheduled to feature in a Netflix road trip programme, but the project was axed after the alleged punch.
Alleged Confrontation Details
The claims also include accusations that Zayn made a remark about Louis's mother, Johannah Deakin, who died of leukaemia in 2016. Louis's sisters Phoebe and Lottie unfollowed Zayn on Instagram after the allegations emerged. A source revealed Louis was "stunned and in shock" and that his head was "cut" when Zayn struck him, as Zayn was reportedly wearing rings.
Career Setbacks
This development follows Zayn's cancellation of his US tour and two UK arena performances. The reasons were not fully explained, but Zayn said he would "take another look" at his diary after recovering from an undisclosed illness. He was also hospitalised before a delayed intimate gig in the UK.
The Daily Star has contacted Zayn's representatives for comment.
