Eighties pop star Sinitta has announced she is starting the new year single, following the end of her year-long relationship with a mystery man. The 62-year-old, best known for her hit Toy Boy and appearances on The X Factor, shared the news with fans in an Instagram post, posing in light-coloured underwear.
In the caption, she wrote: "There is nothing wrong with starting the year single. Being alone is also a gift. Time to reflect, learn and grow peacefully and in your own time." She added that some relationships "turn into friendships" and urged followers not to be afraid to be alone.
The singer had been dating her partner since July 2024 but never revealed his identity. In a previous interview with OK! magazine, she described him as "a really nice man" and said her children were happy she had found someone after years of being single.
Sinitta was married to Andy Willner for eight years until their divorce in 2010, and they share two children, Zac and Magdalena. She has also had high-profile relationships in the past, including with Simon Cowell in the 1980s and Hollywood star Brad Pitt.
The mother-of-two concluded her post with: "Release and be released with peace and love and best intentions for each other. Remember together you were stronger, but alone you were still strong."
