Wynne Evans Splits From Fiancée Weeks After Proposal

Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has announced his split from fiancée Liz Brookes, just weeks after proposing during a romantic trip to Morocco. The Welsh opera singer hinted the relationship was 'not healthy' during a Facebook Live stream on June 2, and admitted he is already dating again.

Speculation began last month when fans noticed Evans had deleted his engagement post from Instagram and unfollowed Brookes on social media. Insiders told the Daily Mail the breakup was driven by the pressure of Evans’ new business ventures, including opening a restaurant in Carmarthen and launching a radio show based there.

A source said: 'Wynne and Liz broke off their engagement a few weeks ago. The pressure of his new business ventures took its toll and they had a big fallout. Initially, there was a belief they would get back together... but with Wynne actively trying to date again and going public describing the relationship as “not healthy”, it’s safe to say they’ve split for good this time.' The Mirror has contacted Evans' representatives for comment.

Brookes, who runs an events company in Wales, first met Evans in 2024 when he performed at one of her corporate functions. She was a regular supporter during his Strictly run. Evans had previously praised her for encouraging his fitness before the show.

Evans proposed in June, sharing the moment on Instagram with photos including the ring. The breakup comes during a turbulent year for the Go Compare star, who was dropped by the BBC after a controversial comment on the Strictly live tour. He has since launched an online radio show and opened Welsh House by Wynne, a wine bar and restaurant.
