Welsh opera sensation Wynne Evans has spoken out following his surprising exit from Strictly Come Dancing, admitting he genuinely believed he was safe from the chop.
The 52-year-old broadcaster, best known as the voice behind the iconic Go Compare adverts, found himself in the dreaded dance-off against Coronation Street star Ellie Leach this weekend.
The Shocking Elimination
Despite delivering what many considered his best performance yet - a lively Charleston to 'Food, Glorious Food' from Oliver! - Evans became the sixth celebrity to leave this year's competition.
'I thought I was safe, I really did,' Evans confessed to host Tess Daly after the results were announced. 'We had such a great time and I thought we'd done enough.'

All four judges unanimously voted to save Leach, with Craig Revel Horwood praising her 'cleaner footwork and better technique' despite Evans' undeniable showmanship.
