Worst Neighbor Ever: Frances Zaayer's Life Now

Netflix's new true crime documentary series Worst Neighbor Ever premiered on July 1, 2026, delving into real-life neighborly disputes that escalated into intimidation, violence, and murder. The four-episode series, a spin-off of Worst Ex Ever and Worst Roommate Ever, features bodycam footage, victim interviews, and animated re-enactments.

Frances Zaayer's Fatal Dispute

The opening episode focuses on a prolonged conflict in Kentucky. Shawna Scott and her husband David moved to be closer to family, rekindling a friendship with Frances Zaayer, who bought the house across the street. Initially, Frances lived with Shawna during renovations, but tensions quickly arose. Shawna stated in the episode: "Frances decided that she was going to try to cause problems."

Disputes ranged from boundary disagreements to physical altercations, with police called frequently. Former Deputy Duana Kidd recalled: "I was called to Washington Avenue almost daily, it was over and over all the time." In May 2018, CCTV footage captured Frances crossing the street and shooting Shawna and David, killing David and severely injuring Shawna.
