World's most tattooed man reveals the moment he'll stop

Remy Schofield, a former chef and dad from Canada, has said he will only stop getting tattooed when he stops enjoying it. The revelation came after one of his 189,000 Instagram followers asked whether his current body art was 'the final product'.

Schofield, who describes himself as the 'real world's most tattooed man', believes he has spent around £264,000 on his inkings, though he isn't 100% certain. His body modification journey began with piercings, and he fell in love with body art about 20 years ago when he had his son's name tattooed. He turned to tattoos around 2008, a few years after those first piercings.

When a fan asked, "Stunning work... love this journey. Is this the final product?", Schofield replied: "So far I'm not aware there is a final product and the only honest answer I've been able to give is that I'll stop getting tattooed when I stop enjoying getting tattooed, whenever that is, that's when the final product emerges is."

Twice-weekly sessions

Schofield told his followers he gets tattooed twice a week and continues to build on the project. "I get tattooed twice a week. And I'm incrementally increasing, changing, improving, evolving this project, bit by bit per week," he said. He also noted that since the video showing his appearance without tattoos was shared last week, he would probably have had another few more sessions. He recently had a session done with an old friend.

Fans react

Supporters flocked to the comments on his update. One wrote: "Magnificent." Another added: "Damn, the colours, the creatures, the art itself. That looks fire, you are awesome man." A third praised: "Every time I come across your videos you keep getting brighter," and a fourth said: "Absolutely love it."

Over 100 layers in places

Speaking to Daily Star, Schofield said his entire body has been reworked dozens of times, and the same areas still hurt – including inside the bum or deeper regions of the inner thighs. He explained: "My body percentage has been roughly the same for 15 years. What's changed is the layers with some parts of me being over 100 layers currently, most of me is between 10-40+ layers."

Only kindness in person

He also said negative reactions only come from online, never in real life. "I never get any 'bad' or 'hateful' comments from anyone family or stranger in person. I only ever hear those sorts of things from people online, in public I get only positive or curious comments," he said. "When I receive hate online I either ignore it or wish the hater/troll well, as I'm big enough to realise what's upset them isn't me."
