Anakaliyah Mooi, a 29-year-old social media influencer from Florida, has spent over £75,000 on plastic surgery, including having six ribs removed and undergoing a controversial waist-narrowing operation in Peru. Standing at 5'3", she now has a 23-inch waist, 10 inches smaller than the UK average.
From Breast Augmentation to Extensive Modifications
What began as a breast augmentation at age 18 after a conservative Catholic upbringing has led to years of procedures. Mooi has had four breast augmentations, taking her from an A-cup to 34H, as well as rhinoplasty, veneers, and butt fillers. Her latest breast augmentation used expandable implants that can be periodically filled, now weighing around 8lbs. 'I'm permanently carrying around £9,100 worth of implants,' she said.
Rib Removal and Waist-Narrowing Surgery
Mooi had six ribs removed before traveling to Peru in September 2025 for a waist-narrowing operation costing between £7,000 and £15,000. The technique involves partially fracturing selected ribs and wearing a corset during recovery to reshape the waist. 'I wanted the higher ribs done because most doctors only work on ribs 10, 11 and 12, which I'd already had removed,' she explained. Her surgery lasted 30 to 45 minutes, and she stayed in Peru for 10 days.
Risks and Recovery
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, risks of rib contouring include pneumothorax, nerve irritation, and failure of the rib's bone cortex healing. Mooi admitted that recovery from a corrective surgery for rib flare has been tough. 'Rib removal was so easy. I was sore for about two weeks, and that was it. This recovery has been much harder. I still can't twist properly, and if I stretch I still feel pain,' she said.
Funding and Motivation
Mooi has worked on OnlyFans for five years to fund her operations, rarely traveling or spending on luxuries. 'I don't really live a luxurious lifestyle. I save almost everything for surgery. My priorities right now are paying off my house and my plastic surgery,' she said. She began documenting her surgeries after rib removal to speak openly about cosmetic procedures, but has faced criticism, mostly from women. 'Mostly the negative comments come from women. That actually makes me sad because I think women should uplift each other,' she said.
Future Plans
Although she believes she is 'about 90% complete,' Mooi has no plans to stop. She aims for a 22-inch waist and next wants a lip lift and larger anime-inspired eyes. 'Eventually ageing is going to happen, and there will probably be plastic surgery to fix those problems. So no, I don't think I'll ever stop having plastic surgery,' she added.
Expert Warning
Thorrun Govind, a health expert, told Metro: 'Cosmetic surgery can be safe when carried out by a qualified surgeon. But every operation carries risks. The more extensive the surgery, or the more procedures you have at the same time, the greater the chance of complications. Complications can include infection, blood clots, bleeding and problems with anaesthetic.' Govind added: 'Cosmetic surgery should be an informed choice, not one driven by social media or unrealistic beauty standards. I am very concerned about how social media is fuelling trends like the "Barbie waist", where extreme body proportions are being presented as an ideal. Rib removal surgery is an extremely invasive procedure and is not a standard cosmetic operation. Removing ribs carries serious risks because the ribs provide protection for important organs.'
