Woman queues 5 hours for Ariana Grande tickets, bursts into tears

A woman who queued outside London's O2 Arena for almost five hours to try and get last-minute Ariana Grande tickets burst into tears after reaching the front of the queue.

Ariana Grande is currently in the middle of a 10-night residency at London's O2 Arena. The 33-year-old singer has already performed three shows at the iconic venue and has seven more to go. Despite every show being sold out, fans are doing whatever they can to make sure they can see Ariana live in concert.

Five-hour queue at the box office

Hundreds of fans are queuing for hours outside the O2 Arena's box office in the hopes of getting any last-minute tickets, with many leaving empty-handed and disappointed. One woman shared her experience with the box office queue on social media, including her reaction when she finally got to the front of the line.

Shaunna shared several videos on TikTok that documented her journey in the O2 box office queue, which began at around 12:30pm on Wednesday (19th August), when she and her friend joined the back of the already lengthy queue.

In her first video, Shaunna said: "I don't think we're getting tickets. I'd be very, very surprised if we did. But we're not going to lose hope. We're not losing hope over here."

Tears of joy at the outcome

Four hours later, at 4:30pm, the woman and her friend were still in the queue. She posted another update video to say that an O2 employee had gone past them with a counter to check the people still waiting in line. She claimed they had "closed the queue" a few rows behind them, which left her hopeful that there would still be tickets left when she got to the front.

Another hour later, Shaunna had finally made it to the front of the queue. She and her friend raced to the open box office booth to find out whether their five hours of waiting had been worth it - and were left teary-eyed by what happened next.

The box office employee told them their wait was "about to pay off", as he loaded up the seating plan for the venue and gave them the news they'd been waiting for: there were tickets left in some of the best seats in the house.

Prime seats secured for £157

Shaunna and her friend were shown the seating plan, which showed there were some tickets left in some less desirable locations, including seats with restricted views and ones that were very high up. But there were tickets left on the floor in the standing section of the venue, as well as some in section 112, which were seated tickets in prime view of the stage.

The women chose to take the two tickets in section 112 for £157. When they left the box office, Shaunna's friend was in tears as she couldn't quite believe they'd managed to secure tickets to the highly sought-after show. Shaunna added: "She's crying, I'm screaming."

Commenters on Shaunna's videos shared in her excitement, with many saying they would be trying their luck themselves at the ticket office for Ariana's future shows, which run until 1st September. One person said: "I've never been so happy for two people I don't even know. Enjoy your night, girls!" Another added: "This is making me wanna go get in the box office queue on the 28th if I don't get them online in time." A third wrote: "These videos give me so much hope! Hope you had the best time."
