Winona Ryder Reveals She Was Rejected by Al Pacino After Declaring Love

Winona Ryder has revealed that she was once rejected by Al Pacino after declaring her love for him. The 53-year-old actress, known for her roles in Stranger Things and Girl, Interrupted, fell for the Godfather star while working on his directorial debut Looking for Richard in the late 1990s.

Ryder, then 22, told Elle Magazine that she was 'actively in love' with Pacino, who is 32 years her senior. During that time, Pacino would take her around New York to try different coffees. One evening, after he dropped her off, she told him, 'I love you, you know. I really am completely in love with you.'

Pacino, now 85, responded by touching her hand and saying, 'Aw, honey, noooo.' Ryder noted the irony: '10 years later, I meet his girlfriend, who's younger than me. Dude, I'm f*cking throwing myself at you.' She added that they still play poker together occasionally.

Pacino's most recent ex-girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, is 54 years his junior. The couple welcomed a son named Roman in 2023. Pacino also has three other children: daughter Julie, 34, and twins Anton and Olivia, 23.

Ryder is now in a 14-year relationship with eco fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn, whom she met at the 2010 premiere of Black Swan. She described him as 'so great' and noted he initially mistook her for Milla Jovovich. Ryder was previously engaged to Johnny Depp and dated Matt Damon, Blake Sennett, and Page Hamilton.
