Wimbledon's New Strawberries and Cream Beer: A Refreshing Treat at £9.95
Wimbledon's Strawberry Beer: Refreshing at £9.95

Express reporter James Knuckey tried Wimbledon's classic strawberries and cream and the new limited-edition strawberries and cream beer from Stella Artois, finding both refreshing and worth the price. The new beer, priced at £9.95 a pint, is a limited-edition offering from Stella Artois, available for the first time across the Wimbledon grounds. According to a member of bar staff, it is already proving popular among visitors.

Strawberries and Cream Beer: A Novelty Worth Trying

The strawberries and cream beer has an ABV of 3.4%, significantly lower than the 4.6% of standard Stella Artois, making it a lighter option for those who want to enjoy a few pints without feeling worse for wear. Knuckey described the beer as sweet but refreshing, noting that while a pint might be enough for those without a sweet tooth, he could have easily had two or three. He emphasized that this did not happen, much to his editors' relief.

At £9.95 a pint, the beer is £1 more expensive than Stella's standard pint at the venue, which itself increased by 10p compared to last year. Despite the higher price, Knuckey believes the novelty factor makes it worth a try. For those unable to attend Wimbledon, the limited-edition beer is also available at Sainsbury's and Co-op stores.

Classic Strawberries and Cream: Still a Hit

For traditionalists, the classic Wimbledon staple of strawberries and cream remains a must-try. On the first day of Wimbledon, large queues formed for the delicious fruity snack. Knuckey, trying it for the first time, was impressed. He described the experience: as soon as you open the box, the sweet smell of the 10 strawberries hits you. Each strawberry was bursting with flavour, complemented well by the dashes of cream.

At £2.85 per pot — 10p more than last year — the strawberries and cream remain a good budget option. The Malling Centenary strawberries are delivered fresh each day from Hugh Lowe Farms in Kent, which has supplied Wimbledon with the fruit for more than 30 years. In 2025, a massive 2.8 million strawberries were sold over the two weeks of Wimbledon, and Knuckey suggested he might help push that number up this year.
