Prince William Reportedly Has No Intention of Reconciling with Prince Harry
William Has No Intention of Reconciling with Harry

Prince William reportedly has no intention of engaging with his brother Prince Harry, despite Harry's expressed desire to reconcile. A source close to William told the Mirror that William remains "deeply hurt" by Harry's public statements and that there "isn't a world right now" where the siblings could repair their relationship.

Harry's Public Plea for Reconciliation

In his first interview since returning to the UK, Harry told GQ that he wants to patch up his relationship with senior royals, saying, "I want it to work out. With everything else that's going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile — that's the key point. Scars stick around forever."

He added, "But what your perception is, and what your mindset is to those things that have happened, letting go of the past. That's something that I would encourage everybody to do. If there's certain things from the past that are still affecting you every day, that's harder to let go of. But, for me, there's enough drama in the world and enough drama in people's lives to continue with issues with family."

William's Stance

However, a source close to William said, "He remains deeply hurt over the many things the Duke of Sussex has said publicly about him and other family members." The source added that Harry was "advised in no uncertain terms to cease making public statements about issues which are deeply private."

The source continued: "The way things are right now, he (William) has no intention of engaging with Harry. Look at what the family is doing just this week: a significantly important State Visit, commemorating the tragedy that occurred in Aberfan 60 years ago, and preparations being made for major royal tours in the immediate future. This is what matters to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the King and Queen - and that certainly doesn't include responding to the Duke of Sussex every time he pops up doing yet another interview."

Context of the Rift

The interview was recorded in late September but released on Tuesday, the day senior royals welcomed the Sultan of Oman to a state visit at Windsor Castle. Sources claim the Royal Family are "incredibly cautious" about engaging with Harry after the Sussexes' tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey and their Netflix documentary series, in which they bemoaned their treatment by the institution.
