Widdecombe Co-Star Recalls 'Odd Encounter' on Day of Murder

Isabel Oakeshott, a TalkTV co-star of the late Ann Widdecombe, has described a chilling encounter with a suspicious individual outside her Cotswolds home on the same day Widdecombe was murdered. Oakeshott appeared on Jeremy Kyle's show on July 15, 2026, to recount the incident, which she initially dismissed as a reporter but now views as potentially connected to the murder investigation.

Details of the Encounter

Oakeshott explained that she had video footage of the individual, who arrived by train and took photographs of her home. She told Kyle: "I’ve had very little sleep, because last night… once I heard the police are actually saying this could be part of a wider plot, I recalled that I had a very, very odd encounter with an individual outside my home in the Cotswolds last week. It was so odd that I got video footage of it."

The encounter occurred last Wednesday morning, at the same time Widdecombe was murdered. Oakeshott noted: "I began looking back at that video evidence and I noted that this individual was outside my home taking photographs precisely at the time that Ann Widdecombe was about to be murdered."

Oakeshott's Suspicion and Police Involvement

Oakeshott initially thought the person was a reporter but found their behaviour strange. She confronted the individual, who offered a vague story. After the confrontation, the person walked back to the train station, which Oakeshott described as "really, really weird." She said: "We’re a long way from London. Do you just come in and do that and go again?"

When asked by Kyle if she had spoken to the police, Oakeshott replied that she had discussed it with her husband, Richard Tice, and they agreed to share the information with the inquiry to rule out any connection. She stated: "I will be. I have discussed it with Richard, he thinks that we do need to share that information with the inquiry, just to rule it out."

Background on the Murder Investigation

Ann Widdecombe, a former Conservative MP and TalkTV presenter, was found murdered in her Cotswolds home. Police are investigating whether the murder is part of a wider plot. Oakeshott's encounter adds a new dimension to the case, though she acknowledged it could be a coincidence. She said: "Coincidence? Well, very likely it was a coincidence. But at this point I don’t think… I think that has to be ruled out."

The investigation continues, with police urging anyone with information to come forward. Oakeshott's video evidence may provide crucial leads.
