Kim Kardashian attended the Monaco Grand Prix to support boyfriend Lewis Hamilton but appeared to ignore Sky Sports' Martin Brundle during his famous F1 grid walk. A body language expert has now revealed precisely why she snubbed the commentator, as fans remain convinced she revealed her true colors.
Lewis Hamilton's Podium Finish
Lewis Hamilton secured his third podium of 2026 at the Monaco Grand Prix, trailing only championship frontrunner Kimi Antonelli. What made the podium particularly meaningful for the seven-time world champion was that his partner, Kim Kardashian, was trackside backing him for the first time.
Kim's Grand Prix Appearance
Following her paddock appearance on Saturday for qualifying, Kim turned up on Sunday sporting a bespoke Gucci by Demna ensemble inspired by the label's latest cruise collection as she made her way to the grid before the race commenced.
Yet one of the weekend's biggest talking points was her decision to ignore Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle during his customary pre-race grid stroll, with her security personnel dismissing him as he tried a polite approach. The uncomfortable encounter left supporters feeling irritated and exasperated by the choice.
Body Language Expert's Analysis
Darren Stanton, who brands himself the 'human lie detector' and commented via OLBG, said he reckons the celebrity was instructed not to engage with Brundle due to him being "verbose." He said: "It's a really interesting interaction, actually, because if you notice, that guy comes into shot from the right of the screen. I think he's given Kim Kardashian the heads up not to say anything because Martin Brundle can be a little bit provocative. He's quite verbose, he can be in people's faces a little bit."
Stanton added: "I would suspect she was told not to speak to the media, whether it's Lewis Hamilton or somebody else. I'm just surmising this based on the interactions that I saw and also her reaction because body language-wise, she was walking towards Martin. Her body posture was pointed towards him as if she was going to speak to him, but then as soon as that guy came into shot and whispered in her ear, if you notice, she turned her posture back towards the direction she was going. That would be consistent with her body language and her reaction, because initially she appeared as though she was going to speak to Martin Brundle, and then it wasn't until he came into shot, which interrupted her pattern."
Darren, a former police officer, concluded that he didn't believe Kim was anxious, but that she was "keeping her head down" to avoid stealing Lewis' thunder. He said: "I just think she was downplaying herself. If anything, I don't think she was playing to the cameras. Some may say that's nervousness, but I personally think she was just downplaying her presence to the press and the paparazzi, keeping her head down. She wasn't engaging with the press to make sure she doesn't hijack Lewis' limelight because, obviously, he's the main man."
Kim's Race Day Experience
Throughout the Grand Prix, Kim watched the action from the balcony above the Ferrari garage alongside sister Khloe, and was even seen in conversation with Charles Leclerc's wife, Alexandra. She subsequently moved down to join Ferrari personnel below the podium to watch her boyfriend spray the customary champagne.
Lewis Hamilton Breaks Silence
Following months of staying silent about their romance, Lewis broke his silence after Sunday's podium ceremony, during which he was seen blowing a kiss in his partner's direction. He said of the American reality TV star: "It's amazing to have her come this weekend and to have that support. It's amazing to have good people around you, good people supporting you, and she does that for me every day."
