Emerging talent Chase Infiniti has rapidly become one of Hollywood's most discussed names following just two major film roles. Her distinctive moniker and outstanding lead performance in One Battle After Another opposite Leonardo DiCaprio have contributed to the buzz. While DiCaprio and fellow cast members secured Oscar nominations, Infiniti was not among them, though she is confirmed as a presenter at tonight's ceremony.
The 25-year-old actress was born Chase Infiniti Payne in Indiana. Her name draws inspiration from Batman Forever and Toy Story. She told the Today Show that her parents, after watching Batman Forever, were obsessed with Nicole Kidman's character Chase Meridian and decided to name their baby Chase regardless of gender. For a middle name, they chose 'Infiniti' from Buzz Lightyear's motto: 'To infinity and beyond!'
Despite online speculation, Infiniti is not the daughter of Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn. The rumour stems from a joke about her resemblance to their characters in Scandal. The gag gained traction when Kerry Washington posted a selfie with her 'Scandal children' on social media, tagging Tony Goldwyn.
Infiniti's career is on the rise. She appeared in Apple TV's Presumed Innocent (2024) alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and starred in One Battle After Another (2025). She has received BAFTA, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe nominations for her role as DiCaprio's on-screen daughter, Willa. Many fans felt she was 'snubbed' for an Oscar nomination. She also stars in the upcoming Disney+ series The Testaments, a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, premiering on 8 April.
The Oscars air on ITV1 and ITVX tonight (15 March) at 10.15pm.
