The Hairdresser Mysteries episode two airs today, Friday 24 July, and features a familiar face from Coronation Street. Wendi Peters, who played Cilla Battersby-Brown, appears as Gloria Crudd, a newcomer to the village with an ice cream parlour.
Episode two plot
The synopsis teases: "When a celebrity weather reporter is found dead, Lily investigates if his zero-star reviews of all the local businesses have driven one of their own to murder." Sally Phillips stars as Lily Petal, a hairdresser turned amateur detective, aided by salon assistant Clary Coombs (Charlotte Jordan) and PC Adam Watson (Ben Castle-Gibb).
Coronation Street stars
Wendi Peters, 58, is best known for playing Cilla Battersby-Brown from 2003 to 2007, with a return in 2014. In The Hairdresser Mysteries, she looks worlds away from Cilla with a pastel pink copper coloured curly beehive hairdo. She is joined by fellow Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan, 32, who played Daisy Midgeley from 2020 to 2025.
