Vogue Williams has playfully shared what she would do if she ever found herself single again, admitting she would not go back to dating unless she turned to a matchmaking Uber driver. The 40-year-old made the comments while co-hosting the Heart Radio Breakfast show with Jamie Theakston.
During the show, the pair chatted with a listener named Zahida, an Uber driver who claimed she is also an informal matchmaker. Zahida said: “I've arranged some dates for my daughter with some passengers I've picked up.”
Jamie said he remembered Zahida because he had reservations about her approach regarding her daughter, explaining she had been looking for a suitable husband for her daughter and had been “vetting them” as potentials. Zahida then asked: “What is wrong with that Vogue?”
Warming to the idea far more readily than Jamie, Vogue responded: “I have to say there is no better way to meet somebody. I've never used the apps before and I was only saying the other day that if ever broke up with my husband, I'd never date again, but maybe I'll just get in touch with you,” she added, laughing. “That's amazing.”
Praising Zahida's matchmaking abilities further, Vogue described it as “a great idea”.
How Vogue and Spencer got together
Vogue and Spencer first crossed paths in 2017 while filming the reality programme The Jump. The following February, he proposed during a showing of The Lion King musical, and they married at his family's Glen Affric estate in June 2018.
They share three children: Theodore, seven, Gigi, five, and Otto, four. In April, they revealed they are expecting their fourth baby.
A 'mad' name for the baby
Discussing her pregnancy recently on her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast with co-host Joanne McNally, Vogue confessed the name they have selected for their unborn child “is mad”. She told listeners: “The name we've chosen is f***ed, it's mad. Joanne flinched at the name and it made me go, 'Oh?'”
Joanne agreed: “Yes, I did. I mean, it's a big name. Like, at the time, Theodore was a heavy hitter, and I know you like a crazy name. I like names too, I like naming shows but you like naming babies. I will admit I was a bit taken aback.”
Vogue responded: “Well it's such a big first name that we're going to do a normal middle name, just in case, so the baby can choose.”
Her first impression of Spencer
Earlier in the conversation, Vogue recalled her initial impressions of her husband. She said: “Before I met him, I was like, 'Oh God, that gobs***e on the show'. That's honestly what I thought before I met him. I heard he was on The Jump when I was doing it. I literally remember being like aargh.”
She added: “I got on with him like a house on fire from the day that I met him and he was nothing like what I thought he would be like. He was really sound and really funny and charming and nice.”
