TV personality Vogue Williams has shared an amusing story about being asked to leave supermarkets in Spain and St Barts after shopping in just her bikini while on holiday. The 40-year-old mother of three, who is currently expecting her fourth child with reality TV star Spencer Matthews, made the revelation during a recent episode of her podcast Vogue and Amber, which she co-hosts with her sister Amber Wilson.
Heatwave Sparks Bikini Confessions
On the podcast, the conversation turned to the scorching heatwave that has been battering much of Europe. Vogue kicked off by declaring: "We're all sweating our tits off. That's what we're doing. But you know what? I'm not complaining about the weather. I'm thrilled. I'm thrilled to be this close to death." The UK recorded its hottest June on record last month, with temperatures reaching 37.7°C, according to the Mirror.
Amber, who lives in Howth, a Dublin suburb, described how locals were managing the heat: "I was coming into Howth there and people complain because they can't sleep at night. And then I saw when I was coming into Howth, girls just wandering around in their bikinis." This led to a hilarious tale about Vogue's holiday wardrobe mishaps.
Supermarket Ejections in Spain and St Barts
Amber joked: "Vogue gets in trouble in Spain for going into the supermarket with her bikini. They have to tell her to leave to go put more clothes on." Vogue replied: "Get in trouble. Yeah. You get asked to f***ing leave. Same in St Barts, surely on an island. I should just take the bikinis off and just go in, they wouldn't say a word."
The former model frequently holidays on the Caribbean island of St Barts, where her husband Spencer's family owns the upmarket Eden Rock resort. The couple recently traveled there with their three children: Theodore, seven, Gigi, five, and Otto, three.
Vogue on Marriage and Name Change
Vogue also opened up about her marriage to Spencer Matthews, formerly of Made in Chelsea. Appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with friend Joanne McNally, she admitted: "When I got together with Spencer, I insisted on paying my way and it's one of my biggest regrets eight years on, paying 50% of everything." Joanne responded: "You tried to make a point and you shot yourself in the feminist foot." Vogue confessed: "Listen, I didn't think I would be here eight years later [with him]." Joanne joked: "I don't think anyone did!"
Vogue also revealed why she has refused to take Spencer's surname during their eight-year relationship. She explained: "Spennny always wants me to change my name to Matthews, and I'm like, mmm, I just feel like I have a track record, and it's very difficult to change your name. And then to change everything back." Vogue was previously married to ex-Westlife singer Brian McFadden from 2012 to 2017. She met Spencer on the reality show The Jump shortly after her divorce was finalized.
