Victoria Beckham has revealed that her daughter Harper, 15, asked her to call her school to get them to change their rules after she was banned from wearing make-up in class.
Speaking on the Today Show in America, Victoria shared that Harper's school wouldn't let her wear cosmetic products while in class. She said Harper begged her to call them and ask that they make an exception.
"Quite recently she said, 'They've told me that I'm not allowed to wear make-up for school'. She said 'Why don't they want me to look my best?' She's like, 'Mummy can't you call the school?'"
Victoria's refusal and Harper's upcoming exams
Victoria, 52, refused Harper's request. Harper, who Victoria said was "really good" at making her make-up look natural, is currently in Year 11 at school and will sit her GCSEs in May and June, just weeks before she turns 16 next July.
Harper is also preparing to launch her own beauty brand, reportedly called Harlo by Harper.
Trademark issues for Harper's brand
Away from school, Harper has reportedly run into speed bumps when trying to get the name trademarked in the US. According to reports, Harper was told she couldn't trademark the name because a firm who sell dietary supplements had already registered it. The US Patent and Trademark Office reportedly decided that the name 'Harlo by Harper' was "confusingly similar" to the dietary supplements and adding 'by Harper' was not sufficient to distinguish the two.
Harper is not thought to have faced the same issues in the UK, as the Intellectual Property Office are said to have approved her application to trademark the name.
Family support and recent events
A source told The Sun: "Harper has been working on a name with the team working on the brand for a while and came up with Harlo By Harper." They continued: "Although there is no set date for a launch yet, the aim is to officially start the roll out at some point next year. Victoria has been guiding and supporting Harper every step of the way in this venture." They also said that both Victoria and David "couldn't be more proud of Harper".
Recently, Harper went to Paris to support her mum during Fashion Week. The event at Conciergerie also saw Cruz and Romeo attend with their girlfriends Jackie Apostel and Kim Turnbull, who were dressed in Victoria's label. Victoria looked emotional as she stood with her children and husband David, but without eldest son Brooklyn. Brooklyn was in Paris but steered clear of the event, and has been embroiled in a family feud with his parents.
