Victoria Beckham has described the past year as 'pretty challenging' amid an ongoing family feud with her eldest son, Brooklyn. The former Spice Girl, 52, made the admission during an appearance on the US chat show Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Tuesday, April 21.
The rift began after Brooklyn, 27, posted a scathing social media message criticising his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. Since then, he has reportedly not spoken to or acknowledged them. During the interview, Victoria emphasised the importance of family, saying: 'We always put our children first. We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children.'
Victoria, who also has Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, with husband David, sought to highlight the family's unity. She said: 'You know, myself and David, we're so close and we have incredible people around us. We're close to my parents and David's parents. We support each other through everything that we do.'
In his explosive post, Brooklyn accused his parents of trying to control his life and relationship with wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham. He claimed his mother cancelled plans to make Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute, forcing her to find a new designer. He also alleged they pressured him to sign away rights to his name before his wedding.
Since the outburst, Brooklyn has continued to ignore his parents publicly, sharing only supportive posts for Nicola's family and friends. Victoria, meanwhile, reflected on ageing and said: 'You genuinely care less about what people think. You accept who you are, you embrace who you are.'
