Victoria Beckham has hit back at claims that her children are 'nepo babies', saying it is 'not their fault' that they are the 'kids of their parents'. The term refers to children of famous parents who benefit from their family connections in their careers.
Mrs Beckham's comments come as her son Cruz prepares to release music. She said he has spent ten years learning his craft, teaching himself to play seven instruments, writing songs and forming a band. 'He hasn't just come in and sung his songs, or demanded anything,' she told The Sun.
She added that she feels sorry for children of celebrities who are labelled nepo babies. 'Give them a chance,' she said. 'What matters is that people are good and kind. Let the music speak for itself before you judge.'
Mrs Beckham made the remarks ahead of the release of her new Netflix documentary. Most of her children attended the premiere on Wednesday, though eldest son Brooklyn was absent, having also missed his father David's 50th birthday and knighthood.
