Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison has expressed her disappointment following the withdrawal of fellow contestant Dani Dyer from this year's series due to a severe ankle fracture. In an appearance on Lorraine, the reality TV star said she would miss her 'dressing room buddy' and described Dyer as a 'ray of sunshine' and a 'brilliant little dancer'.
Dyer, who rose to fame on Love Island, sustained the injury during rehearsals and after an MRI scan it was confirmed that she had fractured her ankle. The production team advised that performing the quickstep on a fracture was not advisable, leading to her exit from the competition.
Vicky Pattison, who is dancing with professional partner Kai Widdrington, admitted to feeling nervous about her own performance, calling herself a 'bundle of nerves'. She also joked about her first dance being 'a little bit spicy' and described the 'highs and lows' of rehearsals.
In a tearful Instagram post, Dyer said she was 'absolutely gutted' and 'heartbroken' to leave the show, but thanked fans for their support. She confirmed she would be watching from home and cheering on the remaining couples.
