Vicky Pattison has admitted she is 'terrified' of performing live on Strictly Come Dancing, as she also addressed the show's notorious 'curse'. The reality star made her debut on the BBC programme over the weekend, partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington.
Speaking to mark the launch show, Vicky and fellow contestant Dani Dyer shared their thoughts on whether they might fall victim to the curse, which has seen past contestants start relationships with their dance partners. Dani, married to footballer Jarrod Bowen, dismissed the idea, while Vicky pointed to her husband Ercan Ramadan, whom she married in 2024. 'Have you seen my husband? No offence to the dancers, they're lovely lads, but he's gorgeous and wonderful in every way,' she said.
The pair also discussed their anxieties about live television. Dani admitted live TV 'petrifies' her, while Vicky agreed, saying she was 'terrified'. Vicky previously called the launch show the 'worst experience' of her life, telling former contestant Angela Scanlon on the Get A Grip podcast that she felt 'overwhelmed'. She described being surrounded by dancers of different abilities, making her 'cripplingly aware of how s***e you are'.
Vicky also joked about her costume, likening it to being a 'sausage in a skin'. The former Geordie Shore star added that the professional dancers are 'all carved by angels', marvelling at their physiques.
