Vicky Pattison has sparked outrage among fans after allowing her dog to lick inside her mouth during a promotional video. The 37-year-old former Geordie Shore star was filming for dog food brand Butternut Box when she opened her mouth wide and let her black Labrador lick her lips and oral cavity.
Critics were quick to condemn the act, with one follower writing: “I love my dogs like my kids but nooooooo I couldn’t.” Another added: “This is so disgusting. Then you kiss your partner and kids after that, spreading bacteria.” The reality star, who owns two Labradors called Max and Milo with her husband Ercan Ramadan, acknowledged the backlash, saying: “I know. I'm so sorry. The thing is, I do it too… it makes them happy.”
Pattison is gearing up to appear on the latest series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, joining celebrities such as Alex Kingston and Ross King. She recently spoke about the so-called “Strictly curse” on the podcast Get A Grip, stating she is not concerned about rumours after marrying TOWIE star Ercan Ramadan last year.
However, her participation in the dance competition has been cast into doubt after she suffered a trapped nerve during a charity trek in Iceland. A source told the Mirror: “She was desperately worried that this wasn't only not going to go away but that it could get worse.” The source added that Strictly has been “the number one show on her wish list for years” and that she is determined not to quit.
Pattison has previously opened up about the condition on Instagram, explaining that it flares up when she is cold. Despite the health setback, fans will see her take to the dance floor later this year.
