Vicky Pattison has received widespread praise after revealing the 'abuse' she faced for being open about her plans to become a mother. The former Geordie Shore star discussed the backlash during an appearance on This Morning on Tuesday.
Pattison, who married Ercan Ramadan in 2024, documented her fertility journey in the new E4 documentary Vicky Pattison: Maybe, Baby? The couple have been open about their uncertainty over starting a family, and Pattison previously decided to freeze her eggs in 2022.
Speaking to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, Pattison said: 'I do understand... I look forward to the day that egg freezing is more affordable and more accessible... But I think there is an awful lot of stigma and shame surrounding alternative fertility journeys.' She added that when women 'stick their heads above the parapet, they are met... with abuse.'
Pattison urged more open conversation about fertility, including adoption, surrogacy, egg freezing, IVF, and remaining child-free, in the hope that 'the more sunlight these conversations get, it'll help people foster empathy.'
