Vicky Pattison announced as eleventh Strictly Come Dancing contestant

Vicky Pattison has been announced as the eleventh celebrity contestant for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing. The multi-award-winning show, produced by BBC Studios, will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.

The TV presenter, author and broadcaster won the nation's heart after being crowned Queen of the Jungle on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2015. Since then, she has become a familiar face on British television, with presenting roles across MTV, ITV, Channel 5, Channel 4 and TLC. Her Channel 4 documentary, Vicky Pattison: Alcohol, Dad and Me, was critically acclaimed, and she has also appeared on Celebrity MasterChef and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Off-screen, Pattison has authored multiple Sunday Times best-selling memoirs and novels, with Nothing But the Truth reaching number one. She currently presents the Saturday afternoon show on Heart Radio and hosts two podcasts: Get A Grip with Angela Scanlon and BBC Sounds' Love Bombed.

Speaking about joining the show, Pattison said: "I'm absolutely buzzing to be part of this year's Strictly Come Dancing lineup... but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified. I am not a natural dancer! However, it's such an amazing opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself in a completely new way and I just really hope I don't make too much of a fool of myself!"

The news was revealed on This Morning on Thursday 14 August. The remaining celebrity contestants joining the new series will be announced in due course.
