Vicky Pattison Clarifies Absence From Strictly Spin-Off

Vicky Pattison has addressed her absence from the traditional post-elimination appearance on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two, after fans expressed confusion. The 38-year-old Geordie Shore star and dance partner Kai Widdrington were eliminated from the competition on Sunday night, leaving the studio in tears.

Typically, eliminated contestants appear on Monday's It Takes Two to discuss their time on the show. However, when fans tuned in on Monday, host Fleur East announced that Vicky and Kai could not be there, but would join later in the week. Social media users voiced concern, noting Vicky had not posted about her exit online, while Kai had shared a tribute.

Vicky later clarified on Instagram that she had been celebrating her birthday on Sunday and had a pre-agreed arrangement for time off. 'We'll be on It Takes Two on Wednesday to chat about our gorgeous journey,' she wrote, apologising for missing Monday's episode. A source confirmed to The Mirror: 'Vicky had it pre-agreed that she was going to celebrate her birthday with some friends and family... The BBC gave her permission to have the time around her birthday off.'
