Calvin Harris and Vick Hope have announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy named Micah, born on 20 July. The couple shared the news on Instagram with a series of photos from the home water birth, including images of the placenta.

In his post, the Scottish DJ wrote: 'Our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah.' The name Micah has Hebrew origins and translates to 'who is like God?'.

Vick Hope, 35, a BBC Radio 1 presenter, and Calvin Harris, 41, married in September 2023 and announced her pregnancy in May. The images included one of Calvin cradling the baby in sunlight and another showing the creation of placenta pills, which some believe provide health benefits.

Placentophagy, the practice of ingesting the placenta after birth, has been adopted by celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian and Coleen Rooney, though research has found no proven benefits. Vick shared her pregnancy news on her drivetime show, Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie, before starting maternity leave.

The couple began dating in 2022 and held a Glastonbury-inspired wedding at Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland, attended by celebrities including AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay.
