Venezuela Fury Brushes Off Teen Marriage Backlash in TV Interview

Venezuela Fury has brushed off the backlash she has received about being a teen bride as she appeared in her first TV interview alongside her husband, Noah Price. The couple spoke to hosts Ben Shephard on ITV's This Morning on Monday, June 22, discussing their big day and married life.

Wedding Details and Honeymoon

The young couple tied the knot on May 16 at the Victorian Royal Chapel of St John's on the Isle of Man, where the legal age to marry is 16 with parental consent. The venue was decorated with an archway of blue hydrangeas and yellow roses, with a long blue carpet rolled out to the entrance. Bride Venezuela, 16, arrived in a vintage wedding car with her father, former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, while her mother, Paris, ensured everything was in place. The couple were later seen leaving the church with an 18-strong bridal party. The celebrations continued at the nearby four-star Comis Hotel and Golf Club, where nineties popstar Peter Andre performed a string of chart-topping hits. Days later, Venezuela and Noah were seen jetting off from Manchester Airport for their Marbella honeymoon, before moving into their first home together. The couple, who met at a party before speaking a year later, last week marked a month since they said 'I Do'.

Interview on This Morning

Appearing on the sofa, host Ben Shephard asked how they're finding married life so far. Venezuela replied: "I'm enjoying it so far. We've only been married a month, but everything's going smoothly, and I'm learning new things every day. I'm learning how to cook, we go everywhere together, we do everything together... It's really good so far." Ben later asked Venezuela whether she always knew she wanted to get married young. She responded: "I think if you're dating someone, you should always look into the future. It's not just what's fun for now. He did always tell me, 'I'm going to marry you!' But obviously you're going to take everything with a pinch of salt but it all worked out, didn't it?"

Addressing the Backlash

Responding to the comments around her age, Venezuela added: "I think, as long as it's not my family or friends, they're the ones that matter to me, then I'm not bothered. I don't like people being unkind, I don't agree with it, spreading badness where there shouldn't be. Yes, I am young, but I've found the person I want and I've carried on with my life. Everyone's got to start somewhere, and I started young." Boxer Noah also told the show he “knew from the start” that he wanted to marry Venezuela. He said: "I didn’t want to mess her about, I thought she was perfect. I was her first boyfriend, she was wife material. When I first seen her, I thought, yeah, I’m gonna marry that girl one day. And then I made the dream come true."
