Usain Bolt was among the star attractions in Wimbledon's Royal Box on Friday as another glittering line-up descended on Centre Court for day five of The Championships. The eight-time Olympic champion attended alongside his long-time partner, Kasi Bennett, with whom he shares three children: daughter Olympia and twin sons Saint and Thunder.
Hollywood and Politics in the Royal Box
Hollywood glamour came courtesy of actor Joseph Fiennes, who was joined by his wife, Maria Dieguez, while Gavin & Stacey favourite Rob Brydon took his seat in the prestigious enclosure. Politics was also represented, with former prime minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty. Mr Sunak appeared on crutches after injuring himself while “showing off” during a skiing holiday.
They were in the box to see Novak Djokovic against France's Arthur Rinderknech, as the Serb continued his bid for a record 25th Grand Slam title. The guests were set to be treated to world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka facing former champion Jelena Ostapenko in one of the standout matches of the tournament so far.
Princess of Wales Surprises Fans
On Thursday, The Princess of Wales delighted Wimbledon fans as she joined the famous queue. She posed for selfies, chatted to spectators, and even helped staff sell tickets ahead of another packed day of action at The Championships in SW19. Kate, who looked elegant in a tailored blue suit, was all smiles as she met tennis fans who had camped overnight for a chance to secure seats on the famous grass courts. The princess, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, also spent time with stewards who welcome thousands of spectators through the gates each year. Kate told two tennis fans to “have a great time” as she handed them a ticket on Thursday morning.
