Sheryl Underwood Reflects on Sharon Osbourne Feud During The View Guest Hosting Stint

Sheryl Underwood has addressed her infamous feud with former The Talk co-panelist Sharon Osbourne while serving as a guest host on The View. The comedian, 62, is filling in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is on maternity leave.

During Tuesday’s episode, co-host Sunny Hostin brought up the “pretty big spat” and “feud over race” between Underwood and Osbourne, prompting Underwood to reflect on the 2021 incident. She said, “I don’t like to beef with my coworkers,” adding that she was “sitting in the middle of it looking around like, ‘what the hell?’”

The clash occurred after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview, in which the Duchess of Sussex alleged racism within the Royal Family. Underwood recalled that Piers Morgan defended the royals, and Osbourne backed him, denying racism. The heated exchange led to a nearly month-long hiatus of The Talk, an internal investigation, and ultimately Osbourne’s firing. The show was cancelled three years later.

Underwood expressed hope for reconciliation, stating, “I still believe there's some love between me and Sharon Osbourne.” She revealed she tried to reach out after Ozzy Osbourne’s death in July 2025. “I sat next to her for years, and I do believe that when she's hurt, she's really hurt,” Underwood added.

Longtime The View host Joy Behar quipped about the rival show’s fate: “And God canceled that show.”
